Brake shoes are crescent-fashioned components with a rough friction fabric on one facet. They sit internal of a brake drum. While the brake pedal is pressed, the brake shoes are forced outward, pushing towards the internal of the brake drum and slowing down the wheel.
Types of Brake Shoe
There are 3 kinds of drum brakes relying on how the brake shoes are pressed on to the drums; main/trailing shoe type, twin leading shoe type and duo-servo type.
